On Saturday April 30, 2016 my brother in law, was traveling back with his family, my sister and their children from an afternoon at a small powwow in Algonac, MI. He wasn't feeling well he had the chills and appeared to be coming down with the flu. Marie was driving, Harvey's behavior progressively changed for the worse in a short amount of time. The kids and Marie became scared as he was disoriented and unaware of his surroundings, Marie thought maybe he was having a diabetic attack, something he had never had before. He wanted Marie to just take him home, Marie drove him right to the hospital. When they arrived she explained to them his symptoms and they checked his sugar level, it didn't warrant the behavior he was having. They immediately took him back to the doctors, and they ran a CT Scan initally telling Marie he was having a stroke and asked if she agreed to have them administer a drug to stop it, she agreed. They later returned to her and told her it wasn't a stroke but they believed it was an Infection of the Brain. They have completed a numerous amount of tests on Harvey which most have come back negative, leaving the doctors to question what has happened. His prognosis is unknown but as his family we are all hopeful and praying for his full recovery. Harvey is a Journeyman Ironworker and unable to provide for his family now for an unknown amount of time, as we don't know if he will be able to return to this field of work after his recovery. As of right now he is still in the hospital, and not sure when he will be sent home. We as his family are asking for assistance to help my sister and their family with the lack of income that will be coming into their home for their everyday expenses. Marie has not left his side, making sure they provide the best care for him. Harvey is a very humble and private individual and takes great pride in providing for his family. Harvey would not want to ask for a hand out however, under these circumstances it is needed.
