Hello everyone, My name is CJ Jessup. I live in South Minneapolis. I am a proud father of 6 adult children and 10 grandchildren. I started a program called #2ndChanceProject to provide 2nd Chance opportunities to individuals coming out of incarceration and state hospital facilities. Our vision, goal, and passion is to help these individuals integrate successfully back into our communities. I have been doing this line of work for well over a decade here in the Twin Cities. IT IS MY OPINION, systematic racism has been a on-going concern/conversations which has contributed towards major barriers for individuals of color deserving a 2nd Chance after paying their debts back to society for past mistakes. Currently, we have located a 5 bedroom property for lease in South Minneapolis. Services will include providing housing, 24/7 supervision, support, mentor ship, community involvement, and everyday positive role model support. Our program model is being developed to implement family structure, self discipline and personal development. Our goal is to help residents develop skills to work as a community and become better role models. We will engage in activities that will help rebuild our communities, promote health and safe living. I am reaching out for support to complete #2ndChanceProject. I have been unsuccessful in securing financing with a financial institution. I would appreciate everyone’s help via monetary donations, building materials, and volunteer services to help complete this vision. Attached are current pictures of our project. We have targeted four individuals who are ready to move in and restart their journeys of becoming successful citizens as they too have been given a 2nd Chance.
