Hello Everypawdy! My name is Elizabeth Bennet and I am a 5 yrs and 8 months old. I was rescued from a puppy mill at 3 months old. I was very sick and the Vet said I would have died in a few days if Mommy had not saved me. My family invested so much time and love to make me a health young furbaby. Mommy grooms me every day. It is our special time. She looks me over for skin problems and to make certain I am healthy. On Thursday July 9th she noticed a large red lump on my paw that had not been there the day before. It hurts me and I cannot walk the same, When I walk my other paw nail rubs it and I bleed. She took me to the vet the very next day. My Vet thought that it could be an inter-digital cyst. They took me inside and Mommy was sad because she could not go with me because of Covid-19. They were going to try to do an aspiration to drain it and send cells for pathology. Unfortunately, though it is movable, the mass is very solid and cells cannot be collected without a complete biopsy and removal. That means surgery as soon as two weeks from today July 14th. Mommy is disabled and cannot gather funds quickly enough to give me a longer life. The Vet now thinks it is NOT an inter-digital  cyst and wants to surgically remove it. I am taking oral antibiotics in the hopes that it will shrink and also prophetically in case I have any infection before they have to do surgery and send it for pathology to make sure that it is benign. I didn't notice it until the Vet started poking me. Now I know it's there and so Mommy had to tape a sock on so that I can't lick and bite it. I also have an issues with my two back molars. They bother me and I use my back paws to constantly rub at my jaw. My vet said that infected teeth drain into the sac around my heart and will cause Pericarditis and will damage my heart. When they do surgery on my foot, they may be able to do my teeth at the same time while I am asleep if not, I will have to have anesthesia and surgery twice . Mommy is extremely worried and sad. Everything is happening at once in our family and Mommy is going to need help. Both of our cars broke, the air-conditioning for our house is broken, we help care for our 82 yr old Grandparents, property taxes are due in August and Mommy has health issues too. She does not like to ask for help because so many other people are in need and are suffering. But I am her baby Liz-Liz and she would do anything to help me. I am her support doggie and I help her with her anxiety and to remember things. I am very loved and a special member of my family. Please help Mommy keep me healthy for many more years; she does not know how to live without me. Prayers and shares help too! I wrote a poem the describes how Mommy and my human sister rescued me and how much we mean to each other and my whole family. We appreciate anything you are able to do to help me.  Miracle at a Puppy Mill Poem By Elizabeth Bennet aka Lizzie-Bizzie My golden life started with blessings from above to help me find a family to love. I was afraid sad and alone in a puppy mill; I was too sick to drink or my belly to fill. I saw two girls as they came inside; their faces were shocked and their eyes were wide. They looked around at the incredible cruelty and decided they needed to perform a duty. I wanted them to see me, to move myself, get closer was the goal, but I was trapped in a water bowl, it felt like the deepest hole. I was surrounded and hidden by my litter and thought I would never find a life that would glitter. Then I saw her look, I made a squeak; even though my voice was weak. Our eyes met and we fell in love, I knew she was the gift sent from Heaven above. She lifted me from the water and chips, then she kissed my little lips. She held me so close, pulled me in tight and whispered it would be alright. She took me home and there she did strive, the whole night long to keep me alive. The next morning early we went to the Vet, they gave me some shots, she called me her pet. Mommy was told she saved my life and this news brought tears of joy to her eyes. I was sick for a while but they fixed me all up and now I am a 5 yr old pup. I get home cooked meals and lots of love, belly rubs and yes,the tub. My family, we never waste a day, taking the time to run and play. My life could have ended at 3 months old but Heaven sent me a cloud lined with gold. I received a family that viewed me as treasure. I will always love them forever and ever. I always try to be the best, we have good days and bad days like all of the rest; but will never forget Mommy passed the test. She chose me though I was sick and dying. She looked in my eyes and could not stop crying. She is my angel forever and I am hers. My life now sparkles and so does the world.
