Michael Lammey is a US Navy wounded warrior who has risen above yet another hardship. Following his near fatal accident while serving his country, financial ruin ensued after his seven year physical recovery. With his economic circumstances finally back on solid ground, he is now prepared to reengage in the business model of his dreams, a consulting company called Safety Matters. In his next step forward, he is hoping to partner with some of Nantucket’s Holiday for Hero (H4H) alumnus and others interested in supporting him in this undertaking. As part of launching this effort, Lammey is excited with the concept of producing of movie featuring his story as a central piece for his future presentations, as well as a marketing tool for his messaging around personal responsibility, a subject in which he wields unique credibility.
After significant discussion and contemplation, the idea of this film was hatched as an efficient and effective approach toward getting Lammey’s new venture underway. It will make the sales and marketing less tenuous and more custom fit to Lammey’s vision for keeping the ongoing overhead piece of the operations minimized. The benefit of a film production in Lammey's scenario is multifaceted: 1) it will create the centerpiece for Lammey’s live presentations (but also virtual as practical), 2) it will maximize the messaging through a powerful and artful presentation, telling Lammey’s personal story from several different perspectives, and 3), it comes with various trailers and short marketing segments which will enable Lammey’s services and messaging to be effectively marketed through social media and other more direct efforts in a clear and efficient pre-packaged format.
The film will be directed, edited and produced by an Emmy winning team excited to develop a safety-centric documentary featuring the “safety doesn’t just happen” message delivered through the detailed account of Lammey’s story. He and those affected by his accident will be the primary narrators. The “safety doesn’t just happen message” is a universal one, and we know of no other production that takes it on in the manner Lammey is envisioning. Becoming aware of the dangers, often intensified through complacency when backed by a false sense of security, is the only way to actively navigate the physical pitfalls we all face in our professional and personal lives. Taking personal responsibility for one’s own safety, as a way of seeing one’s world, is the primary message. Creating this fundamental mindset for any team and/or organization will raise the bar for achieving safer and more fortified environments.
In order to make this film a reality and launch Lammey into this new endeavor helping make sense of his accident by empowering him to pay his experiences forward, we ask for your help. Our goal is to raise $100k which is the budget for the film, aimed exclusively at helping this American Hero get started on this new and hopeful phase of his purposeful journey.
Thank you for any support - this will open a life changing door for Michael Lammey. He has the potential for a huge success in the endeavor. Let’s help him get off to a strong start!
