Rachel is a single mom with full custody of her 14 year old daughter, Briza. They recently moved back to California where she planned to earn a degree in social work, and be better able to support herself and Briza. Suddenly, in October, all plans were put on hold. In the midst of getting established into their rented home and starting a new job, Rachel was diagnosed with breast cancer. She now is going through 5 months of chemotherapy with the final 8 treatments being stronger and more difficult for her to deal with physically. At the end of the chemo treatment, Rachel will need several weeks of recuperating to be prepared for mastectomy surgery. Then she will need to recover several weeks before she can return to work. Rachel is a strong determined woman. She will push herself to do whatever she needs to carry on with her daily regiment along with working a job that takes extra energy for working long busy hours, at times, and coming home exhausted while the cancer and treatments are causing fatigue and many other side effects. We would like to raise enough funds to get these two through the tough times ahead. Rachel is concerned knowing there will be times she won’t be able to work.
