Kim had an unexpected medical emergency

Hi everyone, I’m starting this Go Fund Me for my little sister Kim who suffered from an ‘out of the blue’ seizure on Saturday morning. 9-1-1 was called and she was taken to the hospital where they ran multiple tests and found nothing wrong. She and Carl got home from the hospital in the early afternoon and Kim laid down on the couch and suffered another seizure. After another ambulance ride to the emergency room, it was determined that she would need to stay the night to be monitored and so more tests could be run. Today is Sunday and she was told she would need to spend another night to have another test that cannot be done on the weekend. Due to Covid, she cannot have any visitors. As you can imagine, that is hard on her. Kim has health insurance but it will only cover 85% of the costs accrued during this time. The average ambulance ride starts at $1000 (she had 2), the average hospital stay costs around $10,000 per day. Kim will not be able to drive for at least 6 months, seizure free. Carl works full time and both Wyatt, who is 9 and Hennessey, who is 3 and very ‘busy’, stay at home with Kim while she also works from home full time. It would be a huge weight off their shoulders to have Kim’s anticipated medical bills, beyond insurance, paid for. Other funds would go to help with follow up appointments, easy to cook meals and other expenses while Kim and her family go through this unexpected experience.
