Hi everyone, folks call me Gramps. I am a VFX student currently getting my Bachelor's Degree, the coronavirus pandemic has hit me with a few gut punches for sure.
First off, my 2 previous roommates left suddenly after deciding that their future career prospects were not ideal in my town, one of em leaving the country to boot.
As a result, I've been owing quite a bit of backlog to my apartment's management. I've looked all over the place from facebook groups to roommate apps and even craigslist to find someone to take over the open spots. However, every single time, something unexpected happens, be it people I contacted getting poached, people flat out disappearing after contact, one of whom even had the lease signed before vanishing, and also a couple cases of attempted fraud to trick me into paying them instead.
I've looked all over the place for nearly half a year now and I'm at my wit's end, this constant worry of mine does no favors to my school life either as I keep getting distracted by my search and being unable to concentrate as much as I used to. This combined with my anxiety drives me to several instances of panic attacks where I'm in despair, worried that I might get eventually evicted.
Right now, I'm aware that most of you are having difficulties of your own, so I know you may not be in the best position to help, but any amount, even a dollar helps, or at the very least help me spread this campaign to others so they may help out.
I've never failed to pay my share before in rent but this situation will just keep getting worse and worse the longer it drags on, and while this campaign is going on, I'm still looking for people to take over my open spots.
