In April of 2020, I fell down the stairs, dislocating and fracturing my right ankle in three places. This kicked off an emergency surgery, moving to Vermont permanently, transferring my job during a pandemic, physical therapy, multiple trips back to New Jersey for follow-ups with the original surgeon, and a soon to be second surgery. It has been an intense few months to say the least. To date, I have not been able to get any disability payments due to miscommunications from the NJ disability office and her former surgeon’s office regarding paperwork. Because I cannot work (I am a shift supervisor for a popular coffee company), I has been unable to work since the accident and therefore do not have any money coming in. While I am currently living room and board free (thanks to my fantastic parents), I am unable to pay my monthly bills, let alone my mounting medical debt. This campaign will give me two months financial relief, allowing for the meager funds from disability (once it comes through) to go directly to my medical bills.
