Support Ammeri's (Amy's) Battle with Breast Cancer

Donation protected

Hello- my name is Dana Thiercof and my good friend of 30 years, Ammeri (Amy) Davis has been diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 48. She has grade 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.

Amy and I met junior year of high school and became instant friends. She is witty, fun, hilarious, and was always up for exploring and being beyond silly.

At 28 years old, Amy gave birth to Miette, a beautiful, sweet baby girl. Dealing with a volatile relationship, Amy soon became a single mom, and went on to raise Miette as such. Having dealt with many struggles over the years, Amy always strived to be honest with her daughter, and to raise a proud young woman.

Having done this all by herself while living in the Bay Area, finances have always been difficult. Now that Amy is being treated for breast cancer, I am looking to raise 2-3 months worth of expenses for her so that she can concentrate on her health and not stress about money.

Amy had a partial mastectomy and sentinel node dissection on 1/15/25. They will treat the tissue with chemotherapy to see if it responds and if it does she will undergo chemo. Other than that, at this point unfortunately there is not yet a clear path for upcoming treatment. Amy has Medical and a number of expectations have fallen through.

When Amy first found the lump, it took her one month to get a doctor's appointment. Then it took another month to get a biopsy. Then it took another month to schedule surgery. During this time her lump grew. Her original gene test was taken by saliva instead of blood and was found inconclusive one week before her surgery. So even now at this time, she does not know whether or not she has the breast cancer gene. When meeting with her oncologist one week before surgery, she was informed that the plastic surgeon who was scheduled to do her breast lift right after the partial mastectomy was unavailable. Radiation would render the tissue unable to have plastic surgery, so now she does not know when that treatment might start, nor when she can have the breast lift.

Cancer is scary.
Surgery is scary.
Possibly being very sick is scary... and foreboding.

Being a support system to a twenty year old young woman is essential.
Worrying about money during a time like this is heart breaking and hopefully unnecessary.

Please help contribute if you can. She would not have asked for help though she needs it, so I am taking the reins. Amy's expenses (rent, utilities, insurance, etc.) are about $3000 per month. Spread the word to those you know who know Amy, or know someone affected by breast cancer. My mom, both of my grandmas, and 3 of my 5 great aunts have all had breast cancer.

I know our boobs annoy us sometimes, but we still don't want someone else telling us that we need to get rid of any part of them.

Thank you for your contributions.

With love,

Dana
