Maldonado-Escamilla Twins

Donation protected
You can only imagine our excitement to hear our baby sister pregnant with twins! A teacher devoted to her students about to embark on a new journey one most likely equally as important but perhaps even more challenging- becoming a mother. Unfortunately, life isn't always so simple nor fair and amongest all this joy, sadness soon followed. The twins eager to be born made their grand entrance into this world early at 26 weeks on April 20th 2016. Their names, Levi Matthew and Josiah Alexander Escamilla. The events soon after have been a roller coaster of emotions, something never imagined. Baby Levi we soon came to find was born with no kidneys. My sister was given no hope and was told baby Levi would not last. Remarkably as God would have it, Levi would put up a great fight. To the doctors and nurses dismay Levi continued to live. One, two, three the days continued to pass and Levi kept on keeping on. My sister and her husband remained in the hospital day and night by the boys sight. Family and friends we all prayed for a miracle. After several days of just waiting a doctor from Florida arrived and brought some hope. Finally, someone who was willing to help. Options were discussed and a plan was set into motion. Levi underwent surgery to attempt at a chance to receive dyalisis. He responded well and we seemed to breath a bit of relief. Suddenly, however; his body having been too small could not hold the catheter and it began to leak. This lead to the halt of any attempt at cleaning his system. Amazingly Levi being such a fighter decided to hold on a bit longer. We all got the chance to meet him, talk to him and express our love. We enjoyed every second we could with him! Levi passed on to be with his creator on April 30th at 9:32p.m. having fought against all odds for ten days. He came, he brought joy and happiness, he captured our hearts, and will for ever live there and in our thoughts. We are extremely great full to God for granting us the opportunity to meet him and see what a warrior he was. Funeral arrangements are now being made. Josiah Alexander, is also a trooper and finds himself feeding and growing a little more each day. He is a handsome strong little guy. We continue to pray for him that God may bless him and protect him always and that he may soon find himself at home surrounded by those who love him very much so. We would like to thank all those who have prayed and continue to pray for my sister her husband and the boys in these hard and trying times. Any donation made no matter how small will surely help with all the expenses they have incurred. We thank you for your help in advance and appreciate you taking the time to hear and share in this life moment. God Bless.
