Hi everyone! I'm fundraising for help with my medical care and medicines. As many know,I've been sick for quite some time,(17 years).Lately my health has deteriorated and I have been in hospital after hospital and when I'm not there I'm stuck in a skilled nursing home, which all of them are horrible and dirty with overworked employees that some are not so nice or compassionate.
Recently I've gotten transferred to Moffitt in Tampa, where I was diagnosed with Gardners Syndrome, one of the worst cases that they have seen,17 years ago.My body causes tumors,Desmoids,to form with any surgery that I have, creates different cancers, GI issues and short gut Syndrome. When my doctor's were not able to do much more for me they recommended that I was in need of a transplant of my intestines, kidneys, liver and pancreas and sent me down to Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital where Their transplant institute was located. There I was tested and passed to be put on the list for a multivistual transplant. They decided to do surgery to remove tumors and some scar tissue which after 20+ hours they weren't able to do much of anything and closed me up.Healing from it, they had two JP drains which upon removing, one side had created,or formed,a fistula,as well as Ijust found out,2 more inside of me that Iwasnever told about.I didnt know that it would cause me to be active on the list but on hold until it healed.Almost four years later,I'm not healed, and it's probably one of the worst things that could be happening to me.
The past two years that I've been in the hospital for infections of my blood, high fevers, more infections and blood transfusions as well as dehydration,It was only a bandaid and I'd be back 48 hours to a week later with fevers, dehydration and my electrolytes all messed up!!
Fast forward to now. I am TPN and saline dependent,I haven't been accepted by any skilled nursing homes in Pinellas County because of the TPN and some medications that are extremely expensive.I'm so stressed and scared of where I am going to go after the hospital.I'm being transferred back to St. Anthony's today or tomorrow,my insurance is only covering 3 more hospital days and I'm not sure what happens on the fourth day? If you can donate anything to help with what I'm going to need, mostly help with my medical and my medicine costs as well as somewhere to live,It's no life to live in a nursing home,I watch my boys lifes flash by and with this covid-19,I havent been able to see my kids or anyone else, which is so lonely.
I'm so appreciative and thankful for your help!Thank you and God bless! Prayers and good juju are always welcomed. If you don't mind, please share on your social media pages/accounts.
Much love and hugs to everyone,
Mekayla Ramsey xx
