Many high school experiences are less than positive. Some are bullied, some are bored, and some are overburdened.

But, in the publications room, as the adviser of our student newspaper, I have a chance to offer the best that high school can be. We work together to give voice to the voiceless in the school, to celebrate accomplishments, and to change the culture in positive and productive ways.

However, even though we do all of the above and provide students with not only an academic education, but also a 21st-century workforce education, we do not get a budget to support our efforts.

Currently, we are in danger of folding, and we need your help to overcome our debt. Before June, we must raise $2,500 to pay the bills to continue our program. We would be incredibly grateful if you could help us.

Gofundme has also graciously offered a matching program through #ThankATeacher. If at least 5 people donate $20 or more, we will get extra funds to meet our goal directly from them.

So, if you can give even a little bit ($5?), you'll be helping to maintain a high school program that provides the support of friends in tough times , fosters an active and entertaining learning space, and really makes a difference in the life of the school.
