Roughly two years ago my father, Jeff Summers was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer. Doctors advised the cancer had spread to his bones, specifically his hips. The prognosis was grim, but my father and mother made the decision to seek alternative medicine instead of aggressive chemotherapy with a very low success rate. My mother (Felice Summers) has been my father's primary care giver 24/7, since my fathers' condition has worsened. My parents have no revenue stream and their savings has been depleted. My father and mother have worked hard their whole lives raising five children.
It hurts our family to see our father so weak and unable to care for himself. People that know my dad know he's always on the go. An outdoorsman, always doing something like boating, fishing or surfing when he's not working. It's been hard to see him confined to a chair, with a catheter and using a walker if he's even able to get up.
He's always been the strong one. The go to guy, always steadfast and without compromise. My father always quick to lend a helping hand and take care of his children and grandchildren.
So on his behalf, I'm asking everyone that can donate whatever they can to help alleviate some of the financial burden my parents are facing.
Thank you to all our friends and family that continue to pray for my father and our family. Our family is greatful for all the love and support my parents have received in this difficult time.
