David’s medical bills

For those of you who don’t know, my bff and brother David was recently diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. UC is an autoimmune disease that causes chronic inflammation in the bowel and in the digestive tract. Basically, David's white blood cells are attacking his colon, creating ulcers that cause significant bleeding and pain. This is a lifelong disease with no cure, although there are medications and treatment to manage it. If you look up the symptoms David has them all, I don’t want to type it out because they are not pretty.

It took months to get a diagnosis and to figure out what was wrong with David. He was in and out of the hospital looking for answers, getting all types of exams done until finally he had to be hospitalized for a week because his symptoms became life threatening. A CT scan and colonoscopy confirmed that it was UC.

Obviously, you all know how ridiculous hospital bills are. Not only will David have the cost of the recent hospitalizations, but because this disease is chronic, David will continue to need all of the tests and exams, including colonoscopies, to be done regularly for the rest of his life. This disease causes David to miss work constantly since there are severe physical symptoms especially during a flare up. He will also need to be on lifelong medication to keep the UC in remission, which costs a pretty penny.

Because of all this, he is starting to struggle financially to pay for all his medical bills and medication. This has all been extremely hard on our entire family physically and mentally. We are a very strong family and know God will continue to work through David’s body. We appreciate your support, both prayerfully and financially.
