Billy was a bad @$$ warrior and bravely and valiantly fought colon cancer since Thanksgiving of 2016. He was initially diagnosed stage 3B and in 2017 he underwent chemo, radiation, two revisions to his colostomy. In 2018 he had his ostomy reversed and had several hernias repairs, scar tissue removed, and they removed adhesions and recurrent cancer that they found. In 2020 he had his third recurrence and had another surgery with severe complications, and finally he had his 8th surgery in January of 2021, From there his health declined, but never his spirit. He spent the last year of his life in home hospice surrounded by his wife, fur family, and in close proximity to his passion, making custom Pop dolls. Billy was an absolutely beautiful person inside and out and whenever his wife would connect with the parent of a child going through the same cancer or hospice, he would immediately with no hesitation make a special pop for that child. Billy passed at home with his wife by his side holding his hand 8/3/22. It has been a year and a day since his passing and there is such a void, but his kindness and humblest of spirits will always live on. If you decide to donate please know the funds will be used to help with expenses that are still coming in, and to start an art Scholarship, specifically aimed at students of any age in that have battled cancer and have a passion for sharing their beautiful souls through art with the world. Additionally there are two organizations that mean the world to the family. The Dream Foundation, which is one of the only charities in the world that helps grant wishes to terminally ill adults, and the Colon Cancer Alliance, which was there for Billy, his wife, and their family almost through the entire journey through cancer. Amanda has signed up to become a peer volunteer with the Alliance, and made a career change to help other patients obtain and navigate financial assistance with their medical expenses, as a way to give back and to honor the memory of Billy.
