Hello friends & family of Dana Eaves, mother of Olivia, Cameron & Sydney, daughter of Brenda Thomas, friend of many.
My name is Jessica Alvey and I am Dana's cousin, daughter of Diane Toomey, Brenda's sister. I drove up today with my mother & daughter Violet to visit with Dana.
Dana, for as long as I've known her, (my entire life :)), has been one of the sweetest, bravest, most resilient & dedicated women that I've known. She has mothered with her whole heart, given her life to her children, and loved even in the face of adversity time and time again.
When she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July of 2014, she chose to fight. She has been tough. She has an amazing support system of people that love and pray for her and have held her hand through this. Unfortunately, after 17 months of fighting, 2 rounds of chemotherapy and 1 trial study, she has been placed in at home hospice as of yesterday, November 10th.
As im sitting here with Dana, who has every right to be angry and irrational and only think about herself, she is most worried about her sweet children. As a mom of three, I absolutely cannot imagine the feeling of knowing that you're going to leave your children. She's worried about money, and security for them and Christmas coming up. As Olivia just said, Christmastime is her mom's favorite holiday, and the thought of not being able to be with them during that time and provide is very difficult for her right now.
There will be expenses in the future that will need to be covered. So, along with your prayers and love, company & support through this very difficult time, I am asking that you, if you can, donate any amount that you can. Money should not be a concern right now.
