Sierra's Journey to Recovery

Donation protected
This is an amazing story of hope and inspiration. I’ve had the honor and great opportunity to witness firsthand the courage of a young woman in my gym. This young mother struggles to train after an accident rendered her without the use of her legs.

During the delivery of her beautiful daughter, Teagan, in February of last year, Sierra Schroeder was accidentally administered an additional spinal tap which resulted in her being paralyzed from the waist down. Miraculously, however, due to the nature of this condition, there is a small chance that she can walk again with intense physical training.

Previously before her accident, she earned a B.A. in Dance and taught various dance classes at her local fitness center. Although greatly armed with her faith in God, love and prayers of her friends and family,  her trainers like Terry and Jen at our local gym ; she is is still in need of some funding for expenses, both financial, medical and in relation to childcare, until she can work again. Your prayers are appreciated and any amount of donations you can make will go a long ways.

Sierra has often said that she has choreographed routines in her head for the day when she can dance again and looks forward, even more so, to the moment when she can walk alongside her daughter for the first time. She has battled through this adversity with such hope, love and braveness. Her constant positivity, laughter and words of encouragement have rung through our fitness center, encouraging fellow gym members in a way that I’ve never seen done before. She deserves all the love and support our community can offer. I believe God has many great plans for her future and I look forward to seeing where she goes!

~*~

It seems surreal, but after many months of uncertainty and hard work, the feeling in Sierra’s legs is coming back. Sierra’s is making some significant progress in her recovery these days. She is beginning to walk for short distances and is gaining more balance the longer she trains. She is still unable to feel her feet but her gait continues to improve.

I know she will continue to work and gain back as much use of her legs as possible and knowing Sierra, she will help as many as she can with her story of faith and hope. Your continued prayers, encouragement and support are greatly appreciated.
