Welcome to the John Waterman Go Fund me Campaign. This Fund is a way for friends, family and kind individuals to show their love and support for an incredibly devoted, hardworking, family man who means everything to the people around him. No donation is too small. If you cannot donate, please share John’s story in order to reach those who can.
Over 2 years ago, John was diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. The average life expectancy, he was told, is 18 months. John has fought this bravely and has beaten the averages. It has not been easy though. To date, he’s been through multiple surgeries, several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, and suffered several strokes.
The struggle through these treatments has given John more time. More time with his wife Rose, their family and many friends. It has allowed him to see and do many things, including being here for the birth of 3 grandchildren.
The cost of his care, has been staggering. Insurance caps have been reached and savings have been depleted. Ongoing treatments at this point are out of pocket and medications are not covered. Anyone who’s spent even a small amount of time hospitalized knows how quickly these bills add up.
John and his wife Rose continued to work through the first stages of his treatment. They worked through the sale of their accounting business, and continued on with other jobs after that. Today, John is no longer physically able to work and Rose, as his primary caregiver, can only spend limited time away from home.
The Waterman’s have always been a great asset to our community. John coached little league when their boys were young. He was always available to help a neighbor or a friend. He’d be the first person you’d go to when hosting an event or selling a tickets. He raised countless dollars for the Brooklyn Center American Legion. The list goes on and on.
Our goal here is simple. Let’s give back to a man who has given so much to his friends, family and community. While we can’t cure John, we believe we can provide some peace by providing financial relief to the Waterman family.
