Dear friends and family,
From the bottom of our hearts, we are happy that you have decided to open this letter and read it's humble content. I say humble, because it is not easy for us to request financial assistance in such a way. That said, just as we are aware of our need for help, we are also aware that starting a GOFUNDME campaign is actually an honest way to inform family and friends of what's going on in our lives and receive assistance in a straightforward and organized manner.
You probably know us as Sofi and Geoffrey. We are a young family seeking a little assistance with some big expenses. The bigger expense is the cost for labor and home delivery of our first child together, a girl due July 30th. Yes, we have decided on a name but please ask us later :)... This is not actually the expense we are seeking assistance for, because we have this covered as far as we can tell. The one for which we are launching this campaign is the added financial burden of covering two Green Cards, one for Sofi and one for our daughter Bhavanii at nearly the same time as the childbirth is what we are seeking assistance for.
We will put the Green Cards in its final process as soon as we can cover its cost of two thousand dollars, before its deadline in July and before the busy time of our second childs arrival.
Together with Bhavanii, Sofis daughter from a previous relationship, we are growing rapidly into a strong, tight and joyful family. We look at Bhavanii and see our shared happiness also being expressed in her childlike rejoicing in the events of life. Soon, another soul is also coming to join our bundle of bliss as Sofi is pregnant with our second child.
The cost already for Sofi and Bhavaniis transition from Sweden to USA has been large and possible through persistent saving, travel expenses, work and a few sponsorings from near and dear. The American visas alone have already cost more then 1500 dollars in forms and fees. Plus, Geoffrey traveled to Sweden two times, all the time there spending without working aswell as Sofi and Bhavaniis three travels to USA before they finaly were legally allowed to stay and apply for green cards.
We are saving, Geoffrey has changed jobs and location. We are working to the best of our capacity in order to pay for these events in our lives and we are humbly turning to you, dear friends and family, interested and reading this, for the support to us that fits your situation, big, small or tiny. Any amount will help us to cover the double costs we're facing. All of the money raised for this campaign will go towards obtaining Green Cards for Sofi and Bhavanii. This ensures 'permanent resident' status to them and clears the way for future citizenship.
