Honoring Duke Nguyen: Support for His Family

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of my father, Duke Nguyen, at the age of 78. He was an extraordinary man who dedicated his life to service and family. My dad started his journey as a helicopter pilot in the Republic of Vietnam Air Force, courageously serving his country. When he came to America, he continued his legacy of service with the Orange County Sheriff's Office as a pilot and corrections officer, where he made a positive impact on countless lives. He was a great husband, father, and overall person, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and countless cherished memories.

His unexpected passing has left a deep void in our family. He leaves behind my mom and me, his only immediate family. As we navigate through this heartbreaking time, we are facing not only emotional loss but significant financial hardship.

My dad’s retirement pension, which has been a lifeline for our family, will be cut in half—barely covering our mortgage and bills. This leaves us deeply worried about our other essential expenses, such as car payments, insurance, groceries, taxes, and unforeseen costs. Combined with the sudden funeral expenses, this has placed immense stress on us during an already difficult time.
