As many of you may already know, my 17 year old daughter Ashlynn has been struggling with mental health issues since late 2016. At that time she was hospitalized and our lives changed very much. I withdrew her from Friendswood High School and quit my job so I could be home with her and assist in homeschooling. A lot has transpired since then, more hospital stays, all different types of therapy and medications with really no substantial improvement. Then come in some outside influences that have wreaked havoc in her life, especially here recently. She’s engaged in some very risky, life threatening behavior and truly needs help. She was hospitalized again on Tuesday and her doctor is recommending a residential treatment center here in Houston - The Center for Success and Independence. She will need to stay there for 60-90 days. Although we do have health insurance her individual deductible has to be met and that is $4,000.00. They are looking to transfer her to this facility as early as Monday. So we have a very short time to come up with the deductible and need all the help we can get. The $4,000.00 is just a start and a way to be able to get her into this facility. After that insurance will only cover 80% of her stay so we will be responsible for 20%. The facility is willing to work with us on the 20% and put us on a payment plan.
Ashlynn is my heart, she is the sweetest, caring girl that is just very lost right now. I would not be posting this if we didn’t truly need it. Mental health issues are a taboo subject and I have come across A LOT of judgment since all of this has been going on. I hate that we live in a world where people have such a hard time talking about problems and aren’t able to reach out for help. This is me asking for help for my daughter. I am the only person who will advocate for her. All I want is for her to have the best chance at living a happy and productive life. If you can donate anything it would be very appreciated, if you can’t donate please share this campaign and put some positive thoughts and prayers out into the universe for Ashlynn.
