Hello everyone! A good friend of mine just received some news about their 17 month old daughter, Kylee. The O'hara's spirited little girl was diagnosed with Dentinogenesis Imperfecta.
This is a rare condition that affects the dentin in her teeth keeping them strong and healthy. What this means, is sadly, she will never have teeth unless they are surgically implanted. She will need to have continual care for the rest of her life as this will affect her adult teeth.
My dear friend Cassie, Kylees mom, recently became a stay-at-home mom as the cost of caring for a family of 5 outweighed the cost of her monthly income. However, this condition has put financial strain on the family.
They were able to seek out a pediatric dentist, with the help of Strait Smiles, Tailwind Dentistry, and the U of M Pediatric Dentistry, who has worked with this disorder and can help Kylee. There will be continuous procedures to maintain the implants and monitor her adult teeth that are also affected. She is scheduled for her first surgery on May 24 th to put in false teeth.
The O'Haras are a strong willed family who do not like asking for help and in this current state I am asking for them. I am asking for help raising funds for the O'Haras for medical costs and others that will ensue based on this situation. Thank you in advance
