Porch lift project!

Thanks for your help - I have my lift!
====================================
I love my house. I'd rather not leave it.
A couple of years ago, Go Fund Me and my wonderful friends made it possible for me to buy a stair lift. It's annoyingly slow, but it's a wonderful solution to the unsteady legs caused by Multiple Sclerosis, with which I was diagnosed in 1988... I can run a laundry; I can change the cat's litter - I can live my life.
MS is progressively disabling. My legs are even worse by now... even my optomistic neurologist admits that she "sees something" when she tests me.
Since last August I've been trying to arrange for a Porch Lift, AKA "Vertical Platform Lift," to get my electric scooter over my front porch and into my house. (My old scooter was easy to assemble/disassemble; my new one is harder, and I think it would be easier to handle indoors.) The contractor I contacted makes promises and sends me confusing quotes... but I think I finally have a quote for a full project... not just a lift, but modifications to my porch, my bathroom, and various thresholds that make it hard to get around the house.
He has connected me with a state agency, the Home Modification Loan Program, which will lend me up to $30,000, interest-free, which will not have to be paid back until I leave the house. But I'm only allowed to apply for a HMLP loan once... so it makes sense to apply for a full $30,000 loan, and handle as many projects as I can *now*. So not just the lift, but the bathroom, the thresholds, etc...
I'm waiting for final approval from the Home Modification Loan Program. (I'm already approved for everything but the contractor's quote.) But if my friends can help me, perhaps I can just get the lift I need now, and put off the loan for a while.
I gather just a lift would cost around $11,000.
What do you think?
==================================
No houses on the living-room side of my house mean that the voice lessons I give don't disturb the neighbors. Lots of windows give me light and warmth all winter, and let me fill the house with plants. I love the house's open-plan setup, I love my neighbors, I love my neighborhood...
I'll have to give up my house eventually. It will be one more thing I've had to give up during my life with MS.
I'd like to stay here as long as I can - which means that I need a porch lift..
Can you help?
Thank you.
