Haley’s fight against MG
Donation protected
This fundraiser is for my friend of almost 10 years who has been through enough hardship for a lifetime in her 20 years of life. From losing her mom at a young age to winning a hard four year battle against her mental health, Haley began a new struggle against herself in the form of Myasthenia gravis just over a year ago.
Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune neuromuscular condition. Her body makes antibodies that attack the receptors between her nerves and muscles, so they all get tired extremely quickly. This affects the face, arms, throat, torso, and even the diaphragm.
She’s on steroids and immunosuppressants so her body stops attacking itself, gets people’s good antibodies from IVIG, and PLEX filters the antibodies out of her blood. She recently had undergone a thymectomy surgery that will hopefully help her body stop making the antibodies in the first place. Unfortunately her MG continues to make healing difficult and the medical bills continue to pile on.
“You know feeling of doing reps in the gym until you can’t do any more because your muscles are out of juice? That’s what my muscles do with regular activities”
Please consider helping out a dear friend and a sister to me who has been there in my hardest moments just as I had for her. Let’s try and reach this goal and please share far and wide!
