Mario Salsedo is a family man, husband to Emma, new father to his beautiful three month old daughter Leilani and to his amazing step son Kory. When his friends are asked to describe him they have been known to say, "funny, loyal, honest and hard working". He loves spending time with the people that are closest to him, watching sports, working on cars and living life. 
   Now, imagine yourself waking up on a normal Saturday morning. You don't have much to do, so you go about your day, maybe see a baseball game with your family then decide to take your truck for a drive. This is how Mario's Saturday started on April 30, 2016. During his drive, he decided to check the engine and that's when something went horribly wrong.
    Mario was critically burned while checking his engine when his radiator malfunctioned and spewed extremely hot water and steam all over his face, neck, chest and into his right eye on that fateful Saturday. Mario had to enlist the help of a random stranger to call for help. He was then taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland where he recieved emergency care until he was ready to be transferred to San Francisco,  to one of the top burn centers in the state of California. 
    While in the hospital, Mario has recieved around the clock care to ensure that his burns heal properly. Some of his treatments have included animal skin graft surgery, daily bleach baths and proper nutrition.
    Since the accident, there have been many people asking how they can help Mario and his family get through this extremely hard time in their life. Mario and Emma will suffer a huge financial burden as a result of this accident in addition to the physical, mental and spiritual strain it has already placed on their family. they need support to cover his medical expenses as well as extra help to cover food, gas and other expenses as Emma has to travel back and forth from their home to San Francisco daily. Emma is trying her best to balance her life with their two children while making sure Mario is getting what he needs at the hospital. The bills are already piling up, and even though they are modest and grateful people, they really could use your help.
