22 YR old in medical induced coma
Donation protected
April 2nd 2024 My 22 year old sister christina went to the ER after months of battling illness. She suffers from Evans syndrome/ disease. When seen in emergency room they quickly found she has been battling pneumonia. She complained of severe pain in her lungs and was worried one may have collapsed. After tests, they found that both of her lungs were pretty full with fluid along with abnormal growths in her right lung and her neck. Within 12 hours her oxygen levels were below 50 percent. Another scan showed her lungs completely blacked out. She was drowning. She was prepared for surgery immediately. While in surgery to place a tube in her lung to drain the fluid and to get biopsies her body did not tolerate this and her levels became critical. She is now in a medically induced coma and we are fighting with insurance to get her into a larger university Hospital. There is currently no rooms available and the ones that have rooms available are turning her away because they do not accept her insurance. We are looking for any and all help with medical bills and expenses. Christina will need help keeping her car paid for as well as car insurance and phone bill as we want her to have minimal stress when she wakes up. Her monthly treatments for Evans disease are 25000 a month. we are working with an immunologist, pulmonologist, cardiologist and infectious disease to get Christina the best possible care. However the hospital has made it very clear she needs to be transferred to a larger hospital with more resources available as her case is unique and very rare. Any and all help is truly appreciated and needed to get Christina through this. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers and donations. We ask that if you have come across our GoFundMe page that you would please share.
