Many of you will already know my beautiful friend Chloe.

Chloe and I have been best friends since she moved to my school in year 1. 15 years on, I still struggle to find a word that truly captures what she means to me. Chloe is like my other half, she’s my sister in every way that matters.

We grew up doing everything together, and so many of my happiest memories have her in them. Even now, I honestly can’t imagine my life without her.

Sadly, a few years ago, Chloe passed away after bravely fighting cancer.

Losing her completely broke me and all those around her. She’s deeply missed and loved by everyone who was lucky enough to know her.

For her birthday, I always try to celebrate her. So for what would have been her 22nd birthday, I’m walking 22 miles in her memory and raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, which is an incredible charity that supported Chloe during her treatment.

The Teenage Cancer Trust funded the hospital unit Chloe was on. The ward had a special room where patients and their families could step away and escape the hospital environment for a while. The room was full of countless facilities such as a pool table, video games, TVs, and social spaces.

It was a space Chloe and I could spend time together, to escape the hospital rooms and just be normal teenage girls again. That meant everything.

Donations play a crucial role in funding units like the one Chloe was on, and ensuring young people receive personalised care that goes beyond medicine.

All donations go straight to the Teenage Cancer Trust. If you’re able to donate, any donation, big or small, would mean the absolute world! It’s a way to help other young people going through what Chloe faced, and to keep her memory alive.
