#22 All Day Long (Blaise Webber)

Donation protected
When I think back to my freshman year of college it was full of fun, learning to be independent and the realization that maybe med school was not going to be in my future since I was having too much fun!  I'm pretty sure I had a cold for the majority of my fours years in college but it certainly didn't slow me down.  As I sit here today I struggle to imagine what life would have been like if one morning I woke up with shortness of breath and a week later was told I had stage 4 Classical Nodular Hodgkin's Lymphoma that would require 6 months of aggressive chemotherapy as a starting point.  My name is Stacy and this is what my nephew Blaise Webber is living through as a freshman in college today.

As strange as it sounds, this was a good diagnosis as it has a 90% survival rate.  Thankfully Blaise is an otherwise healthy young man, a 4 year varsity lacrosse (LAX) player at Greenbrier High School in Evans, Georgia where he graduated this past May.  Blaise achieved All County honors for LAX his Junior and Senior years,  received the Alpha award for his leadership skills in 2018 and was a Team Captain his Senior year.

Blaise is an excellent athlete, but more importantly he is a respectable young man, good friend and mentor with a strong work ethic.  He is well liked by teachers, parents and coaches throughout the Greenbrier Community as well as neighboring communities because of his positive attitude, sportsmanship and charismatic personality.  Blaise and his family have been part of the Greenbrier LAX community since 2009 when his older brother Justin began playing with the team.  Blaise's Mom, Karen, has been a team Mom since the beginning and as a family they have all supported the Wolf Pack.  From 2009-2018, Karen and her husband Robert were found enthusiastically cheering for the Wolf Pack  from the stands of every home game.

The Webber family is sincerely grateful for all of the love and support they have received since learning of Blaise's diagnosis.  This next year will bring many new challenges for Blaise and his family which unfortunately includes the high cost of medical care.  Even with medical insurance coverage, out of pocket costs accumulate quickly.  Blaise plans to continue his studies at East Georgia College /Georgia Southern University to obtain a degree in construction management and this year his younger brother Jarod will be graduating from Greenbrier High School.  Jarod is planning to get his degree in mechanical or biomedical engineering and then move on to specialize in prosthetics and orthotics.  Karen and Robert are so proud of their 3 sons, the oldest being Justin who is currently serving in the Army and is stationed in Germany.  Our hope is to keep all of their dreams on track for a bright future as we are reaching out to the community to help make this happen.  All donations will go towards Blaise's treatment and care.  No donation is too small and we thank you for any assistance you can offer to support Blaise and his family during this difficult time.

Blaise will be starting his treatments shortly and we will be sure to keep you updated on his progress.
