Stories are what make us. There’s not a soul on the Earth that doesn’t have a story to be told. This is mine. My name is Stephon Sherrod. I’m humbly asking for assistance in achieving my dream of becoming a screenwriter and moving to LA in August, 2020.
Becoming a screenwriter give me a creative voice to speak into the lives of all those who watch. Stories give us insight into a different culture and perspective whether its a comedy or a tragedy. I want to use this ability to bring light even if for just a moment. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. February 8, 2019, I graduated from Full Sail University with a Bachelor’s in Creative Writing for Entertainment. The first big challenge of my career, but here I am. A college graduate with a quarter of the debt most college grads my age have. THIS is the next big challenge. I’m raising funds so that I will have a deposit and the first few months of rent and other financial responsibilities covered while I diligently seek employment opportunities.
As we all know LA is NOT the cheapest place in the world to live, but for what I want to do I feel like it’s the best place for growth and opportunity. I’m a very hard headed person. Giving up doesn’t come easily if at all. Over the past year I’ve learned a host of skills: Videography, Photoshop, Graphic Design, Social Media Marketing. I say all this now to humble brag but to show that when I’m set on something I get it done. LA is the goal now.
I’ll be grateful for whatever you can give and if you don’t have the means right now you can still help! If you’re a business owner or know people who need graphic design/video work, I’ve started a small creative studio named Victory Forge Studios. I’m also still a musician (guitar and singer) for hire.
We are all give a handful of great challenges that can change our lives forever. This is mine. Words cannot begin to express the gratitude for those of you who have joined this journey with me. Together we’re going to make greatness.
