Danny was in a tragic car accident eight weeks ago. His vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer truck in Eastham. Rescue crews were called to the scene and after two hours of strenuous work finally freed Danny from the car. He was rushed to Boston Medical Center (BMC) after a brief stabilizing stop at Cape Cod Hospital.

The medical team at BMC discovered a litany of problems; severe brain trauma, fractured vertebrae in his spine, broken collar bones, numerous facial fractures, multiple broken ribs, and many other issues too numerous to list.

Concentrating mainly on the brain damage, they have brought Danny back from the brink. Through the heroic efforts of BMC’s medical team and Danny’s fierce determination he is getting better. After 3 weeks being intubated and kept in a medically induced comma, Danny awoke for the first time...weak, confused and in agony. He and his medical team worked hard together the next five weeks. Now he is walking, talking and eating...I know those feats sound small, however, they serve as evidence that Danny’s spirit is still with him.

A Happy Ending? Yes, we are all happy to see Danny progress this far, but it is far from an ending. Danny still faces a multitude of surgeries and what could be years of rehabilitation in multiple facilities. We, as his family, are willing to sacrifice what we have to help him come back and lead a productive life. We are fully committed to this undertaking and realize it will not be easy from many standpoints. We understand life is in a bit of a turmoil for everyone right now, battling their own issues with family, health, and work. But with all that being said, we are reaching out to respectfully ask for any support that you may be able to provide to overcome the financial burdens that this recovery will incur.
