Me and my mother have been without a home since January. We were staying in motels for as long as we could but can’t pay the prices. So now we live out of our van. Being a paraplegic makes this very difficult. We’ve been trying our best to find a place to live but no luck. And we could move out of state but we can’t afford to move all of our stuff, find a new home, and build a ramp or make other renovations to make it live-able for me. Even moving in with family in other states would cost more than we can afford. I’m not sure what I’m asking for specifically, I just know we need help. We’ve been trying to stay in motels for the mean time but it’s too expensive, which puts me in a hard position as I need to use a restroom and have equipment to help with these things. But being homeless, especially during COVID, public bathrooms are all closed down. We are desperate for help. We’ve been trying to find somewhere out here in CA because we have family/friends here, as well as my doctors, my medical supplies, the benefits we receive, our whole lives are here. Moving means we’d have to wait for all those things to start again. Which might have to be why we do. Anyways, every little bit helps us greatly! I’m asking for $2,500 because that could at least get us another month in a motel.
