Hi! 18-year-old black trans FTM trans man here. I moved out of my house because it was a bad environment when I was 17 and have been living w/ friends and their family for a year now. I have been out since 8th grade, and was persuaded to move back in w/ my dad feom my mom's in Chicago under the guise that he would let me start testosterone. When I asked him about it, he said he didn't know enough about it. When I provided a page of information in a notebook, they never read it and then said it was too expensive. When I provided cheaper alternatives, they said no because they "didn't feel safe letting you inject yourself with a needle". This lasted the span of my high school career. They lied and got my hopes up and now, after a series of events, I've moved out and would like to start testosterone and possibly get top surgery.
