I need to get something off my chest..

Hi! I’m a 22 year old Black non-binary lesbian in desperate need of some gender euphoria. In the UK it can take anywhere from 2-5 years on the waiting list (first appointment with the GIC - the surgery date) before getting top surgery through the NHS and I can’t afford to wait that long. I’ve been struggling with gender dysphoria way before I even had the language to describe it. I felt disconnected from myself and didn’t know why for a very long time. My chest size in particular causes me brings a lot of despair and I want nothing more than to have a smaller chest so I can finally feel more comfortable in my body and like it truly belongs to me. Not only does this cause me mental distress, it also causes me physical pain too as my spine hurts constantly from the weight/size and my ribs are normally under a lot of pressure due to excessive binding. This quarantine period has allowed me to take a break from binding as I haven’t had to be in the eye of the public properly for months, but it has also made me extremely hyperaware of my chest and definitely reinforces the feeling of wanting it gone. It can cost anywhere between £6000-£9700 to get this surgery through the private sector. I will be getting it done hopefully within the next 12 months. The money raised will be used to pay for the surgery itself and anything left over may be used to pay for rent/bills/food as I will have to take time off work to heal and recover.
