Half-Marathon for Kirsty ♥️ Diagnosed with brain cancer

I’m Lisa and myself, my husband Mark and one of our best mates Rich are running the Milton Keynes half marathon (21km!) on Monday 5th May 2025 to raise money for a fantastic charity, Brainstorm, who helped one of our closest friends, Kirsty, who was unfortunately diagnosed with brain cancer in 2021…

When Kirsty was first diagnosed it was successfully removed following an awake 10 hour craniotomy surgery, which is about as traumatic and scary as it gets. Unfortunately the type of tumour means it is likely to grow back.

• *So why are we supporting brainstorm?*

This charity is represented by the fantastic surgeon that saved Kirsty’s life and your donations will help fund research into the specific type of tumour that Kirsty had, in the hope that they will one day find a cure.

Brainstorm also helped Kirsty gain access to a medical trial that will hopefully stop/slow the tumour growing, a trial she would have never known existed without this wonderful charity… this is how important it is!!!

Our aim is to fight and, hopefully cure brain cancer in all its forms by funding dedicated research into the use of advanced translational imaging technologies and surgical techniques, in combination with therapeutic treatments.
