Matt Piquette Needs Our Help

Donation protected
Many of you don't know me, but I am writing about someone you DO know, if you're lucky enough to have crossed paths with, or luckier still to have forged a relationship with of some kind with, my cousin, Matt Piquette. He is in need of some help right now, and is far too humble to have written this himself. With my persistent urging he is posting this. He is truly a good guy. He's the guy who held me up 5 years ago, both physically and emotionally, when my mother died unexpectedly. He's the guy who has held me to higher standards than I set for myself because he helped me throughout my whole life to know my worth. He's been a friend to many, and a confidant to all. Including you, perhaps. I know he has for rme, If you know him, then you likely know he had landed a new job in FL with an apartment management company. He has dreamed of living permanently in FL, probably his whole life, and has made the attempt a couple times in the past. With this new position, he was able to realize his dream for once and for all!!! It was such an exciting time for Matt to get to start a new chapter and bring his dreams to fruition - FINALLY! So he took the leap, moved in with a friend for a few weeks prior to his own apartment opening up, and his job beginning, with the solemn promise that he would pay his way and his friend would give him a place to stay, One night, however, he found himself without a car and an errand he had to run. Being the determined guy he is, he took to his destination on foot, only to get injured by stepping in the road into a pothole. Sure this sounds clumsy and whatnot, but it could happen to any one of us, so don't judge, Puddles lie! :) He consequently broke his leg in three places, and needed surgery to place several screws to stabilize his injury and reset the bones, He is between health insurance plans due to the move out of state, and his "friend" was afraid of getting in trouble because of his injury, and kicked him out while he was still in the hospital! (Rest assured, he has broken off communication with this person now that he has his meager belongings with him.) He's in need of money to get the rest of his belongings to him from Minnesota to Florida, money for food and household goods. He had to use the money he had to secure a hotel room for the beginning of this now less-than-best chapter, Alas!!! He remains determined to refrain from being discouraged, and is refusing to believe that this is foreshadowing to his time in Florida. But he could use a helping hand to get him there. His job will start once the orthopedic doctors permit him to, his apartment still needs to have rent paid in the meantime, the guy needs to eat, and he has to be able to afford his medications while he is still awaiting his insurance to kick in. To be honest I know I'm forgetting some things such as the costs of daily living (plates, garbage bags, utensils, towels, etc....) among numerous other things. He is willing to make concessions on the luxuries in life because he knows where he stands (or hobbles - Sorry Matt) in this position so he's not interested in asking for anything from anyone, but would certainly and deeply appreciate any help you can give at this time. The money he receives will only be used for the essential items, getting his belongings to him, and setting himself up for the better times to arrive. We all know that these are hard times, with COVID going on and employment being on shaky ground, so no donation is too minimal, Please, though, think back to all the times Matt has been a friend to you, has shown you his good-natured spirit, and his kind heart. Now is the time he needs you to be the same for him, I humbly thank you for your consideration! Adrienne
