On Wednesday June 10th, 2020 the Cromer family’s house caught fire. The damage is extensive and they will have to completely rebuild their home. Brenda, MC, Victoria, and Leia-their special needs cat, got out safely. However, their other cat Lady Jaye and 2 ferrets did not make it. The Cromer family has done so much for the Brighton community, especially during the hard times that COVID has brought upon us. Brenda and Tori were working on donating food to families in need and saw that there were others who were willing and able to help. So they worked hard, with the help of friends and colleagues to organize an extraordinary food donation for the Brighton Food Cupboard, as well as donating money to Foodlink. This family has seen a lot of struggle and pain through losing loved ones and battling health conditions. Brenda is still recovering from a jaw surgery she recently had, among other things. MC was just recently tenured with RIT, and has been working so hard with his students to get through this pandemic. Tori is a dedicated, hard working student and young woman. Despite struggling with her own health, she manages to pull through with her education and has been working on being more responsible. I know this family will become stronger because of this, but they have to rebuild their lives from scratch.
