Please help me raise money for Mowgli’s life saving surgery! On Wednesday June 10th I noticed Mowgli was having a hard time urinating and seemed very agitated near his bladder/abdomen. I made an appointment to see our local vet (first receipt) and they quickly transferred us over to the emergency vet where he could get overnight care. Turns out what I thought would be a simply treated UTI is actually a major blockage. He spent all of Wed night and Thursday with a catheter in place and from the vets early updates Mo was doing fairly well. I received a call on Thursday afternoon (June 11th) and the vet said Mowgli’s bladder had filled with sand and that he was straining to urinate even with the catheter in place. It is then that surgery to widen his urethra (essentially amputate his penis) was recommended. It will allow him to pee naturally again without the fear of him becoming blocked every few days and it will prevent toxins from the urine from entering his bloodstream which would be fatal. The total estimated for this procedure, including hospitalization and overnight care, catheter, urinalysis, full bloodwork, radiographs, the surgery itself, and other necessary tests is $4000. This is something that came on very suddenly, I am just one person working a low income job at a nonprofit. I spend my entire life caring for and making sure my foster kittens have the best lives. Please help me ensure my Mowgli gets his best life. Donate if you can, even $1 helps so, so much. If you are unable to donate please share his story so more people are can donate see this.
Thank you ♥︎
