Hi, I’m Sara Carter and I need your contribution. I am an interdisciplinary artist who makes work involving navigating life, space, relationships and subcultures. I co-founded a group called Gradients to serve as a safe space for BIPOC folk at MIAD. That grew to a platform for BIPOC outside of the institution and within the Milwaukee community. We have created workshops on “How to be an Ally to BIPOC” and have presented at the Milwaukee Art Museum. The work I create and do in my community is interchangeable and has helped me grow into the person I am today. I am excited to share that I will be a 2020 graduate but I have one more Art History class to finish this summer. This is the last step to reaching my degree and I am not able to afford it on my own. With the pandemic and this uprising I have had a lot on my plate emotionally, mentally, and financially. With your help I can cover my class fees and tuition and finally finish this amazing milestone in my life.
