Daniel Wong's Walk All Over Cancer

Donation protected
About me:
I've never been great talking about myself but I'll do my best, and feel free to hit me up any if you have any questions.

My name is Daniel Wong, 31 years old, born and raised in Titusville Florida. Son and brother to the best family out there.

10 years ago while attending UCF I met the love of my life Ashley and 7 years ago this month we got married. Life has seemed pretty normal since then, we got the best dog, Amy, worked, and eventually got a house.

What happened:
Then in May I got a cough, so because of the covid concerns I went in for testing. Those came back negative. After 2 weeks I started having trouble breathing. I ended up going in the ER in Rockledge where they found fluid all around my heart and also a large unknown mass in my chest. I ended up getting heart surgery that night to drain the fluid so I could breath. I stayed in the Rockledge ICU for next two days. Then the Doctor came and said the large mass was cancer and that I would be transferring to Orlando for more testing and treatment. After further testing they determined I had T Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. They said it is a rare form of cancer that is very aggressive and developed only in the last couple weeks. Luckily because I am young they can be aggressive with the treatment. I started my first round of chemo yesterday June 3rd. I will have to stay in the hospital for the first month under observation but then I should be able to be back and forth between home and the hospital for the next six months. If I respond well I will be able to starting getting back to normal, but I'll continue treatment for a total of 3 years.

The Doctors have said the best thing. I can do each day is rest, eat, drink, and WALK. I've never been much for walking, but when your going to be stuck on a single floor of a hospital for a month it does help pass the time.

My goal:
My gofundme goal is to walk 100 miles during my 1 month stay here. They say some days I'll feel the effects of chemo more then others but I'm not one to let it get me down. I'm going to Walk All Over Cancer.

What I will do with donations:
I will be dividing any donations made with 75% going to help with any financial needs that Ashley and I may have with me being out of work and her having to take extended time off to help care for me. The other 25% I will be using to help others. Some ideas I've had for this are small like buying lunch for the nurses on the floor or buying games/ puzzles for the patient lounge. I will also be looking into what local charities are out there helping those suffering from cancer as well. If anyone has any more ideas I would love to hear them.

I've had such an outpouring of support and encouragement just through this first week from family, friends, coworkers, and people I've never met before. I know that I can beat this and am in good spirits! #WongStrong
