Hello everyone. I was diagnosed with systemic lupus 21 years ago and also a 20 year cancer survivor. Due to my systemic lupus my kidneys fail and so I am in need of a kidney transplant. Why I waited so long? A number of reason putting my daughter’s needs above mine..... wanting her to graduate high school and college which she did. Down to the point.... I was afraid and had listened to many negative stories. This is my third round with Gofundme. Through Gofundme I had funds to travel from hospital to hospital and afford test not covered by insurance, until I became a candidate at Shans - I University of Georgia Medical Center. I have been accepted, listed and at the top of the list (meaning you can be called at any time). I have one set back ..... because of the systemic lupus and the immunosuppressant medications for the lupus has caused severe dental issues. This dental surgery is very expensive and I will need this surgery before transplant because of the issue of rejection. I know that Gofundme helps because it has gotten me to pointed of finally being accepted and listed at one of the best hospitals. I’m not getting younger and would like to be able to live a somewhat regular life to enjoy my daughter, my son and his one daughter along with my family. I know that faith without work is dead.
