Little Blue School Bus

hi! my name is dino, and i am a teacher, a linguist, and entrepreneur, motivated to share and spread language education! i help people learn Spanish+English, from restaurants to nurses, farm workers to law enforcement, social workers to firefighters. empowering others to communicate can save lives, help a teen get into college, or allow immigrants to more fully participate in civic life. due to COVID-19, i recently lost my job teaching Spanish at a local high school, and soon after, i also lost my apartment; along with those, i finally lost my business, teaching Spanish to restaurant staff. i want to continue to serve my community, as well as expand the scope of my operation, and so was born: The Little Blue School Bus! by acquiring a rig and converting it into a tiny home on wheels, i can both secure housing for myself, and create a mobile learning space. this live/work center will allow me to teach remotely, as well as drive directly to students, while simultaneously serving as a long-term place to sleep at night. i am currently partnering with San Francisco Bay Area restaurants and farms to help immigrants learn English, and am further bridging the language gap by teaching Spanish to managers and landowners. Blue Bus is my dream, a chance to do good in the world, while investing in my community. with some ingenuity, a little elbow grease, and financial support from folks like you, The Little Blue School Bus can become a beautiful reality! i will share my stories+successes from around the country with you on social media, using mountains, oceans, and redwoods as an open-air classroom to deliver 1-on-1 language lessons, remotely, harnessing the power of the internet. i believe in sustainability and self-sufficiency, and i am making a big ask of my community to help me become independent; instead of spending every penny i make on rent for property that i will never own, i would like to invest in something that pays for itself and that is mine to manage and keep for a lifetime. thank you, everyone, for participating, and any amount you could donate is enough. with your help, i can purchase the bus, and adapt it for educational purposes, not to mention keep a roof over my head at the same time. the orgs with whom i partner are SF Waldorf High School, San Francisco Fire Department, University of California San Francisco Medical Center, San Francisco General Hospital, San Francisco Police Department, Golden Gate Restaurant Association, and Castro Merchants. abrazotes, dino
