Many of you know Ann has struggled with Crohn's disease for years. These last two have been especially difficult and have taken a toll on her body.
Recently, after suffering months of terrible pain, Ann was finally able to have the bowel resection she desperately needed. She began to see light at the end of the long, dark tunnel and looked forward to recovering and potentially going into remission. Unfortunately, things did not go well. Ann had a complicated recovery that kept her in the hospital for over a month. Shortly after beginning to recover at home, Ann began to have additional pain and symptoms. Diagnostic tests confirmed that she would require a second bowel resection.
Additionally, her doctor has prescribed an extremely expensive medication ($2500 per month) that she is required to be on while she waits for surgery at the end of September and throughout her recovery. Ann's insurance company, unfortunately, does not cover this medication. She will need the medication for at least the next 4 months. On top of that cost, Ann has had to scale back her work hours, which has made everything much more difficult to afford.
If you know Ann at all, you know that she is the kindest, most generous person. Chances are, if you are reading this, you have experienced Ann's kindness and generosity firsthand. So, if you have the means to help financially at all, I know Ann would be so grateful. Every little bit helps! Thank you so much for your consideration.
