Help open our fitness centers

Donation protected
We all fought originally to see the disease be defeated and eradicated, but unfortunately data  shows COVID-19 is here to stay and because of that, we need to mitigate it spread. Fitness facility owners across Massachusetts are ready again to answer that call and put measures in place that will protect and keep safe our staff and members. But even with all those guidelines and restrictions in place, we are not even give a chance to operate! Not one client! Instead of working with small businesses in Phase 2 and 3 and giving guidelines we can work to achieve in our facilities, or giving time lines for opening that can be counted on and planned around, the state government is offering no guidance and no firm date for reopen. This is unacceptable.

Meanwhile, thousands of people pour into large corporations and institutions like Home Depot, Walmart, Churches, Ocean State, Manufacturing etc. The state has trusted those institutions to do the right thing and provide good, safe guidelines for their clients and community. Why are fitness centers any different? Our risk mitigation efforts will be better than that of all the large chain stores that haven't had to close for a day. In our opinion we serve our members in a much more vital way. Our member's  physical and mental health seems more vital than buying paint. We have a hard time understanding how the most recent phase allowed to reopen can not avoid physical contact and close proximity, while we must remain closed. Our facilities have tens of thousands of sq.ft. in many instances and we are not allowed a single person?

We all know why we do what we do. We help our members and clients with their physical fitness, which helps build strong minds, bodies and immunities. Our services are absolutely essential and one of the greatest ways to fight COVID-19. Gyms should have been something that were opened up immediately with eased restrictions on May 19, yet we remain closed, to the detriment of our members and business owners.

Please donate if you agree with this. As gym owner, a gym member or someone who believes that the state government at this point should not be picking winners and losers and should not be allowed to put restrictions on businesses from opening who are ready to reduce occupancy to mitigate the spread of the virus through all means necessary. This campaign is so we can raise funds to be able to fight. This pandemic has brought to light, we as club owners have no protection and nobody to fight for us. We need to change that. Forming an association/coalition to fight this and all other battles that may come our way.
Any and all support is greatly appreciated

Frank Nash as well as the rest of our MIFO board will be moving the funds into our non profit account we have set up. The funds will pay the expenses thus far, continue what we pay monthly moving forward.
