Ali Shaef was a Yemeni diplomat who lived many years in Bulgaria with his family. But unfortunately with the constant civil war in Yemen, Ali was forced to emigrate to the United States with his son Mohsen in pursuit of the American dream and to provide for his family, who are constantly under attack from the war. After many years in the US and working in convenience stores Grandpa Ali met my grandmother and fell in love. He then opened his own store with the dream of providing for his family and bringing his children to America to escape war and poverty. After 20 years he was finally able to go back to Yemen and see his children and proceed with the process of trying to bring them here. Due to covid 19 the borders and airports closed and he was unable to come back home. Grandpa Ali became very sick with corona virus and the hospitals in Yemen were closed, he fought hard with lack of proper medical attention until unfortunately his heart gave out. We lost one of the most purest hearts to have graced this Earth. Grandpa Ali was a kind, generous, sweet, patient, humble and loving man. He gave without hesitation. To know him was to love him. He deserved better than to be taken away by corona. He deserved better. We his family are trying to keep his store, his dream and hard work alive, along with trying to help his family who are now ravaged by corona virus and fighting it. Please help save his dream and his children.
