Build The iCar To Win The Gambler 500
Donation protected
Help fund the iCar project! This project is mean to assemble a team of racers and build a car to compete in the Gambler 500. A rally “race” in which contestants are meant to drive 500 miles though Canada, Washington, and Oregon through the most inhospitable roads possible. The catch? Drivers are encouraged to spend around only 500 dollars on their vehicle, carrying spare tires and gas all strapped to the roof of their car as they go through miles of pacific north west wilderness.
This project seeks to make an iCar with all the stupid shit on it we can possibly cram on the exterior of the 500 shitbox we end up buying. Since the race is highly anarchic in nature and drivers will at all times have access to highways if needed, the goal of the race isn’t to have the fastest time but to have their 500 dollar shitbox survive things it was never ever meant to. I.E. dragging it through 500 miles of wilderness for 2 days.
The team you’re funding is going to use these funds to purchase the shit car, and get the money they need for gas, transport, and parts needed to actually get the 500 dollar shitbox to make it to the finish line (most likely not in one peace). The driving team will need to navigate the wilderness and be able to do repairs as needed as the race progresses as well as construct the car to be as ready as possible for the race.
If the funding goal isn’t met, all money will be refunded. Any additional funding over the bare minimum will go to making the car as ready as possible and funds for the teams run. Since this race is almost entirely outdoors, most racers camp out in the wilderness mid race.
Anyone who donates can send in any sticker or decal they want thrown onto the car with in reason. For top donators we will ensure their personal flair will be put on the vehicle if requested. Don’t send any offensive stickers in, although anything Uncle Ted related is cool . We of corse will be sure to spray paint some dumb bullshit on the car as is customary.
We will keep everyone updated on the construction of the car as well as the race itself, which will occur on June 26th to the 28th. If for whatever reason the race is delayed, we will race in it as soon as it’s ready, however there’s no indication it will be delayed as the race runners seem fine with running it. If the race is canceled we will refund all donations as well unless of corse we have already purchased the car in which case we will race in either next years Gambler 500 or a Gambler 500 in another location in the US. However the Washington one is the first and largest Gambler so we will leave it up to the donators to decide.
The Gambler also functions as a community environmental clean up operation. Racers are to clean up any litter they come across wooded trails and clean up set “checkpoints” the organizers have created. The goal is with all the people racing to entirely clean up the trails of litter they come across. The Gambler encourages its racers to fill up their trunk with litter.
Since the race is only a month a way. We would need to raise this money in 7 days.
Here’s some short videos showing that the Gambler is like:

In short, these funds will cover:
The car: 500-600 dollars
Getting the car ready for the race plus spare parts we will need on the road I.E. tires, pray paint: 400-500
Gasoline:200
Transporting the team to the starting line, I.E. long distance travel, getting the car to the Canadian border, tolls ect: 600-800
Total estimate cost: $1950.00
Thank you so much for your participation in this project. Stay tuned!
