Support Brian Siereveld’s Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
On April 29th, Cincinnati native Brian and his wife, Amanda were given the news no one wants to hear... cancer. Glioblastima Multiforme or GBM, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Brian went into the emergency room on April 17th with headaches and symptoms that resembled a stroke. He was quickly transferred to Good Samaritan Hospital where an MRI indicated the need for surgery to remove and determine what the large mass was in his right temporal lobe between his eye and ear. Post-surgery and waiting for pathology results, Brian remained in the hospital in total darkness, feeling isolated, alone, angry and scared.

Results showed that the doctors were able to remove the main tumor but determined there are tentacles of the tumor that remain. Brian will start treatment mid-May which will include both radiation and chemotherapy in pill form to try to kill any additional cancerous cells.

Today, Brian, or "Snugs" as his friends refer to him (for his reputation of being a big teddy bear),  is strong. His motto is “We’ve got this.” His strength, positive attitude, and faith are keeping him focused on beating cancer.  Brian is a family man, and lives for his two boys, Austin (11) and Brice (8). He's passionate about their interests, active in their sports, coaching football and cheering them on in their love for baseball.  Brian has worked for Queen City Mechanical for 20 years and counting.

Brian’s friend and co-worker, Rick Seaver has committed to completing a Pan Ohio ride in Brian’s honor. The annual Pan Ohio ride is a 4 day bike ride from Cleveland to Cincinnati, supporting the American Cancer Society. Due to Covid-19, the official Pan Ohio ride has been canceled for the year, but that isn’t stopping Rick from completing the challenge and dedicating his ride to raising money for Brian, Amanda, Austin and Brice. At the end of July, Rick will be tackling 380+ miles in just two days to bring awareness and raise money to support the Siereveld family’s financial needs. Rick knows the battle Brian and Amanda are facing and is ready to take on his own challenge to show support.
