This is zeus, my 6 year old male neutered pit bull. And once again he is in need of my saving.
I first met Zeus when he was 6 months old. He was skin and bones, he didn’t even weigh 20lbs. After a couple months of pleading I finally convinced Zeus‘s owner to relinquish him to me. At time of his relinquishment it then became clear to me just how extensive the neglect had been. To paint the picture I want you to imagine living in a tiny wire kennel, with no padding, no plastic bottom for 20+ hours a day. Both of Zeus’s front paw nails were so damaged from trying to dig out of the wire kennel it was clearly painful for him to walk. Once I got him home it took THREE baths to get all of the urine and feces out of his fur.
Once at the vet he was diagnosed with multiple parasites including worms. Once treatment for the parasites was finished the road to recovery and weight gain began!
Unfortunately in May 2020 someone who I live with left the back gate open, and Zeus got out…It is now claimed that he attacked and killed a neighbors dog. He is being held at the local Humane Society for a lovely fee of $600 a month until our court date that has yet to be determined, where a judge will determine if Zeus will be retuned to me or euthanized.
Zeus has been since the day I’ve had him inseparable from his sister Alice and is constantly playing with the cats in the home.
Since this horrible incident I have been mislead by the authorities involved in my case, have gotten no help from the courts and turned down by multiple lawyers who are unwilling to take on my case.
FINALLY I have found a lawyer willing to represent my case and help get Zeus back home. However as many will know having a lawyer represent you is not a cheap endeavor.
On top of the recent $2,000 vet bill I’ve acquired treating Zeus’s herniated disks and mass removals, the lawyer is charging $3,000 dollars for his retainer.
I implore you help me get my boy home! Your donations are greatly appreciated!
