2025 Sponsorship for Bhagya Nepal

In 2022 while visiting Kathmandu, I was introduced to Pooja Pyakurel, and was immediately impressed with her dedication to and love for the children of the Bal Mandir orphanage and the students at Shristi Gyan Secondary School.

In addition to a full time job, she visits the school several times a week to make sure the students are being cared for, treated well, and feel loved and supported. She often invites students over to her home for meals, holidays, and as respite from boarding school life. She acts as a big sister to students who are far from home or have no family to speak of. In addition to working with non-profits based in Spain, she has co-founded her own non-profit based in Nepal to provide sponsorship for these children and make sure they have what they need to thrive.

I have committed to providing €1,750 (~$1,900) a year for a sponsorship.

This line in Nepali combines the meaning of Bhagya (faith) with the idea of positive change. Meaning through your help you change someone’s live. Bhagya Nepal helps children build a brighter future, essentially rewriting their destiny.

Bhagya Nepal, our soon-to-be-registered non-profit, is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in Nepal. We do this by empowering underprivileged children through quality education and essential skills training. We also support orphanages like Bal Mandir when needed, provide immediate relief during disasters like earthquakes, floods, or lockdowns, and build libraries in villages to nurture a love of learning. Additionally, we empower rural women with skill development programs, creating a ripple effect that strengthens families and communities.

For one child €1,750 per year, you can make a significant impact on a child's life. Sponsorship covers essential resources like school fees, residential support, books & stationery, uniforms, learning materials, basic medical care, food, and clothing.

You could transfer yearly, one-time or quarterly. Ruta6 sends 3 transfers yearly.

Our focus is on children from disadvantaged backgrounds, including orphans and those from single-parent households. By providing education and support to these children, we alleviate the burden on single mothers and empower them to focus on income generation for their families. This creates a positive cycle that strengthens both the children and their mothers.

Direct Support: Once our registration is complete, we'll provide details for donations directly to Bhagya Nepal's account.

USA Partner: Donate through our trusted ally, Allies for Impact, a registered non-profit in the USA. Donations through them are tax-deductible for US residents and have a minimal $20 transfer fee. Allies for Impact will then securely transfer your donation to Bhagya Nepal.

Building a Lasting Connection:

Transparency is important to us. We'll keep you informed about your sponsored child's progress through monthly reports that detail their academic achievements, health status, and overall well-being. You'll also receive confirmation of your donation.

As your personal point of contact at Bhagya Nepal, I'll be here to support you and your sponsored child. I'll visit them weekly, provide emotional support, write progress reports, and offer encouragement. Additionally, I'll counsel single mothers, focusing on their security and well-being, aiming to be like a guardian figure for them and the children.

For your information, Ruta6 provides an additional 9% per child to cover logistics and my work expenses. You can choose to contribute solely to the child's sponsorship fees if you prefer.
