Hi there and welcome!

We are Isabel and Peter, Mom and Dad to 2 teenagers that compete in BJJ. Both kids competed at the Canadian National Jiu-Jitsu Tournament in June and earned a spot on Team Canada. Although they are your typical teens (yes, they talk back and yes, they can be lazy), we have to admit that they do train hard and put time in on the mats. They truly deserve this opportunity.

About Emily: Emily is a 16 year old Blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu who has been competing (and medalling) in tournaments since she was 7! You will always find Emily on the mats training or helping out with the kids classes. She has a passion for everything BJJ. Last year, she sustained a serious concussion and was unable to compete but she is back this year! And, she is ready and eager to represent Team Canada at the JJIF World Championships in Thailand this November.

About Aki: Aki is a 13 year old Yellow belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu who has been competing and winning tournaments since he was 6 years old! Even though he always seems to be the youngest in his divisions, he is 13 years old and fights in the 14/15 year old division (he was born mid December) he is able to focus and complete the task at hand. His determination really amazes us! Last November, Aki competed at the JJIF World Championships on Team Canada in Crete and brought home a Sliver medal. We can't wait to see what will happen this year.
