2024 Stuff a Stocking (SPCA of Anne Arundel County)

Happy Holidays! We’re back with our Annual Stuff a Stocking for a (SPCA of Anne Arundel County) Shelter Pet! Please note that this is NOT a shelter sponsored fundraiser, but run by the many generous volunteers, their families and friends, and our wonderful community.

2023 was our largest fundraiser to date and we’re hoping to surpass that again this year with the generosity of many of you!

We have some very exciting news, our brand new (and beautiful) shelter is in the final stages of completion so our Stuff a Stocking Campaign will look a little different this year…..

There are many ways to contribute:

1) Request a Dog to Sponsor (Santa does the shopping) - you donate to the campaign (via Go Fund Me) and request a dog to sponsor. Your donation is used to buy items for the specific dog and you get your name posted on a certificate within the shelter.

2) Request a Dog to Sponsor (YOU do the shopping) - you reach out and let me know who you wish to sponsor and do all the shopping yourself! Please de-tag, “wrap”, and label the items from a provided list. Turn them into the stuff a stocking” collection box located in our current main shelter (Dog Room) for Santa’s helpers (our fantastic staff) to sort, store, and share with your sponsored animal.

3) Monetary Donation - Make a monetary donation of ANY amount to the fundraiser. This will be used to ensure all dogs, cats, and petites get to enjoy something special for Christmas while they wait for what we hope is their REAL Christmas present……a family to call their own. A lot of our longtimers have special foods, meds, and special needs.

This will ALSO go towards our staff “wish list” which are items that our staff has requested to assist with enriching and caring for the many animals at our facility.

4) Bring a gift to the shelter and drop in our collection box located in our current main shelter (Dog Room) for our dogs, cats, and petites.

5) Combination - Combination of any!! Want to sponsor a dog AND ensure items are bought from our Staff Wish List? You can do both!

Although this fund is primarily geared toward the dogs, you may request that your donation go towards a specific cat or petite. A list of adoptable dogs that can be sponsored can be found at our website at https://aacspca.org/adoptable-animal-search/ Collection/Donations will occur through 12/20 and this campaign will close 12/31 (any proceeds collected after 12/31 will be donated directly to the shelter’s general collection fund to be used toward caring for our furry residents.

If you are donating an item or doing your own shopping, here are some general gift Ideas, but please reach out to see if there are any specifics for the sponsored pet. Again, some animals have allergies, medications, or specific wish list items.

soft fluffy toys

soft toys (small mice, etc)

canned food (any, but especially pate types!)

dry food (any but especially purina, iams, or science diet)

KMR kitten formula (small powder cans preferred for storage)

miracle nipples for kittens

Cat items we do NOT need:

Avoid ball toys with feathers/foil (cats eat them and they do not wash well)

Litter box scoopers
